Titanium-Free: Nvidia Introduces GeForce GTX 560

Nvidia Corp. this week quietly introduced a new performance-mainstream graphics processing unit (GPU) called GeForce GTX 560. The new graphics board offers lower performance compared to the GeForce GTX 560 Titanium released earlier this year, but is also available at lower price-point and improves speed of its predecessor.

"Starting at $199, the GeForce GTX 560 joins its big brother, the previously launched GTX 560 Ti GPU, in delivering an awesome gaming experience in its price class for games running at 1080p, the world's most popular gaming resolution, according to Valve's Steam Hardware and Software Survey," a statement by Nvidia reads.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 graphics card is based on the GF114 graphics processing unit (GPU), an improved version of the GF104 made using 40nm fabrication process with reduced power consumption and improved layout. The model GTX 560 has 336 stream processing units, 56 texture units, 32 render back ends, 7 tessellation engines and well as 256-bit memory controller. Nvidia recommends to clock the GF114 chip of 560 at 810MHz - 950MHz, which means that its stream processors operate at 1620MHz - 1900MHz. The designer recommends partners to install 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4GHz - 4.40GHz onto the GeForce GTX 560 graphics cards.

The novelty fully supports DirectX 11, OpenGL 4, OpenCL 1 as well as all the modern functionality, including hardware decoding of high-definition stereo-3D video and so on. In addition, the novelty supports Nvidia-exclusive features, such as CUDA-exclusive GPGPU software, PhysX and proprietary 3DVision stereo-3D feature.

Its Official: Nvidia launches its GeForce GTX 560 Ti Graphics Card

Its Official: AMD launches the Radeon HD 6950 1GB Graphics Card

Today was originally supposed to be about the newly released GeForce GTX 560 Ti – NVIDIA’s new GF114-based $250 video card. Much as was the case with the launch of AMD’s Radeon HD 6800 series however, AMD is itching to spoil NVIDIA’s launch with their own push. Furthermore they intend to do so on two fronts: directly above the GTX 560 Ti at $259 is the Radeon HD 6950 1GB, and somewhere below it one of many factory overclocked Radeon HD 6870 cards, in our case an XFX Radeon HD 6870 Black Edition. The Radeon HD 6950 1GB is effectively the GTX 560 Ti’s direct competition, while the overclocked 6870 serves to be the price spoiler.

EVGA Showcases its Geforce based Dual GPU Monstrosity at CES 2011

EVGA showcased a new unnamed GPU based on Dual Geforce Based Chips at its CES 2011 booth. The company didn’t gave on any details on the card but its likely to be based on two of the current Geforce 500 Series chips which could either include the upcoming GTX 560 or the current GTX 570 chip.

One amazing thing which can be noticed in the pics is the Huge Custom Heatsink which the card will use which offers a Unique design and equipped with three cooling fans which cool the Aluminium array Heatsink below which is pretty much visible. The cooling may look quite alot but for a card which uses two 8 pin pci-e connectors it isn’t. So much power means that the total TDP will be around the 375W region making it one hell of a card in temps and performance. Of Course! The Extra Juice will allow room for more overclocking.

The bottom of the card has also been captured which reveals possible specs of the cards, It is supposed to feature a total of 1GB GDDR5 VRAM and holds two GPU cores, each with four memory chips. Dual Chips will make the card a bit longer than the current 500 Series Geforce cards. The card comes with 3 DVI ports making it 3D Surround Ready.

Nvidia is sure planning on something for the upcoming Dual Antilles based card from AMD and this might be its real competitor, Pricing and Availablty are not confirmed but more news to be out real soon.
