GeoHot is well known in the iPhone scene but what happens when he begins diversifying himself in more than one particular field? He becomes a total Badass.
GeoHot has managed to crack the PS3′s current Firmware 3.55 and render it jailbroken. All you PS3 owners better get ready to download the new Firmware version within the next couple of days.
After successfully implementing Homebrew on 3.55 he has now managed to go even further.
I can forsee a future where Sony and Geohot play a game of cat and mouse where Sony releases a FW version and then Geohot cracks it, I can for see that people like me who simply want to enjoy the variety of online games for the PS3 will have to download a new firmware more frequently now which is going to be an even bigger burden.
This first crack is the first of many to come, Maybe Sony will give in and call in GeoHot’s offer for
“if you want your next console to be secure, get in touch with me. any of you 3. It’d be fun to be on the other side.”
Of course by any 3 he is referring to Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo respected makers of the PS3, XBOX 360 and Wii.
Maybe all this stuff is a publicity gimmick so that he can have job security in this rough economy?
